Foil Racing League ("FRL," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit foilracingleague.com, create an account, purchase a membership, register for an event, join or operate a club, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

• Account and profile data: name, email, password, date of birth, gender, address, phone number, emergency contact, and photo.
• Athlete data: disciplines, equipment, racing history, results, rankings, club affiliation, and coaching information.
• Membership and payment data: tier selected, billing address, and transaction records. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor (Stripe) and are not stored on our servers.
• Event and club data: race registrations, waivers, results, club rosters, leader contact information, and event applications.
• Communications: messages you send us through contact forms, email, or support requests.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and understand how the Services are used.

Information from third parties

• Authentication providers (such as Google) when you sign in using a third-party account.
• Event organizers, clubs, and sanctioned officials who submit results, rankings, or registration information about you.

2. How we use information

• To create and administer your account, membership, and athlete profile.
• To process registrations, entries, transactions, and refunds.
• To publish public-facing athlete profiles, club listings, results, and rankings when you have opted into a tier that makes such data public.
• To operate sanctioned races, officiate events, and maintain national rankings.
• To communicate with you about your account, events, safety information, rule changes, and service updates.
• To improve and secure the Services, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information in the following circumstances:

• Affiliated clubs and event organizers: As a sanctioning body, we share member, athlete, and registration information with clubs and event organizers as necessary to administer membership rosters, event entries, results, rankings, and safety operations.
• Service providers: Payment processors (Stripe), hosting and infrastructure providers, email and analytics providers, and similar vendors who process information on our behalf.
• Public profiles and results: Athlete profile pages, club directory entries, event results, and rankings that you have chosen to make public are visible to anyone who visits the Services.
• Legal and safety: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FRL, our members, or the public.
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember sign-in sessions, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit functionality such as staying signed in.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Services, and as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain historical race results and rankings, and enforce agreements.

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

Some FRL programs involve minor athletes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information to us should contact us at hello@foilracingleague.com so we can take appropriate action.

8. Your choices and rights

• You may update your account information at any time by signing in and visiting your profile.
• You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages. Transactional and safety messages are required for membership.
• Depending on your jurisdiction (including residents of California and the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information. Submit requests to hello@foilracingleague.com.

9. Third-party services and links

The Services may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party tools (such as Google Maps and Stripe). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

FRL operates in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may not provide the same data protection laws as your country.
