FAQ

FOIL Racing Organizer — common questions

What's included in the Organizer Packet?
Marking buoys and course layout guides, app support and timing integration, event-day insurance and certificate of insurance (COI), registration templates, and a direct line to the FRL ops team.
What registration support do you provide?
We give you pre-built registration templates, check-in workflows, and guidance on setting up online entries. You bring the riders — we help you manage the list.
Can I get the FRL rulebook and race formats?
Yes. Every licensed organizer gets full access to the current rulebook, class structure tables, and recommended race formats for each discipline.
What course diagrams are available?
We provide layout guides for windward-leeward, reaching courses, slalom, and beach sprint formats — plus guidance on setting marks based on local wind and tide.
Do you help with race jerseys?
We provide design templates and connect you with approved vendors. We can also help coordinate a league-wide design if you want your event to match the national series look.
What timing and results support is there?
The FRL app handles timing integration and results upload. We also provide backup manual timing sheets and a results verification workflow.
What qualifies as a sanctioned event?
Any race that runs to the FRL rulebook with certified officials and the FRL insurance bundle. One-offs, series, club championships — all eligible.
Do I need my own insurance?
Most venues require a primary policy you carry. FRL provides the secondary event-day coverage scoped to sanctioned racing.
How long does approval take?
Most applications are reviewed inside a week. Larger venues or new formats can take longer if we need a site call.
Can I run a multi-discipline event?
Yes. Sanction one event covering pump, eFoil, wing, kite, or downwind — class structure is up to you within the rulebook.
What does it cost?
A per-event sanctioning fee plus the insurance bundle. Series and clubs get bundled pricing — get in touch for a quote.
Do you help find sponsors?
We make introductions to league partners and provide a sponsor prospectus template. We do not guarantee funding, but we help you build a credible package.
