Privacy Policy

Foil Racing League (“FRL,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information when you visit foilracingleague.com, create a rider account, register for a race, buy a VIP pass or merchandise, join our mailing list, attend an FRL event such as the Miami Foil GP, or otherwise interact with us (together, the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

• /Account data: name, email address and password, or the details shared by Google or Apple if you sign in with one of those accounts. You can also sign in with a one-time code sent to your email.
• /Race registration data: name, email, phone number, mailing address, country, racing division, whether you are entering the Enduro, and details about your equipment.
• /Waiver data: your electronic signature, the date and time you signed, the waiver version, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older. For riders under 18, we collect the name, email and signature of the parent or legal guardian who signs on their behalf.
• /Purchase data: records of your race entry, VIP Boat Experience pass or merchandise orders, including amount, date, ticket code and billing details. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processors (Stripe for entries and passes, Shopify for merchandise) and are not stored on our servers.
• /Mailing list data: your email address when you join our mailing list.
• /Communications: anything you send us by email or through the Services.

Information collected at events

• /Photos, video and audio: FRL events are public and are photographed, filmed and may be broadcast or livestreamed. Riders, spectators and guests may appear in this footage.
• /Race data: results, finishing times, heat and division standings, and location, speed and motion data from any timing or tracking devices used during racing.

Information collected automatically

• /Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages and timestamps.
• /Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, run checkout, prevent fraud and understand how the site is used. See section 4.

Information from third parties

• /Sign-in providers: Google or Apple, when you choose to sign in with those accounts. We receive your name and email address.
• /Payment processors: Stripe and Shopify send us confirmation of your payment and order status.

2. How we use information

• /To create and manage your rider account and profile.
• /To process race registrations, waivers, ticket codes, VIP passes, merchandise orders and payments.
• /To run our events, including heats, divisions, timing, results, safety operations and prize payouts.
• /To publish race results, rider names and divisions, and event photos and video.
• /To send you messages about your registration, purchases, event logistics, safety and schedule changes.
• /To send race updates, athlete announcements and offers if you joined our mailing list.
• /To improve and secure the Services, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.
• /To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these situations:

• /Event operations: with venue partners, race officials, safety and medical personnel, and timing providers, as needed to run the event safely.
• /Service providers: vendors that work on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe, Shopify), website hosting, databases and authentication, email delivery and website analytics. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
• /Public results and media: race results, rider names, divisions and event photos and video are published on our site, social channels and in media coverage, and may be used by FRL and its event partners to promote FRL events.
• /Sponsors and partners: we do not give your contact details to sponsors for their own marketing unless you ask us to or agree to it.
• /Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of FRL, our riders, spectators or the public.
• /Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

• /Essential cookies keep you signed in to your rider account and keep the site working.
• /Payment cookies set by Stripe help process payments securely and prevent fraud.
• /Analytics help us measure site traffic and understand which pages are used.

We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as staying signed in or completing checkout, may not work.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to run our events and provide the Services. We keep signed waivers, transaction records and race results for longer where needed to meet legal, tax, insurance and accounting requirements, resolve disputes and maintain a historical record of results. Mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls and authenticated systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children and youth riders

FRL events include an Open Youth division, so some riders are under 18. Riders under 18 cannot create a registration or sign a waiver on their own. A parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf, and we collect the minor's information for event participation only. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. A parent or guardian who believes their child has given us personal information can contact us at contact@foilracingleague.com and we will take appropriate action.

8. Your choices and rights

• /Your account: you can review and update your details by signing in to your rider profile.
• /Marketing emails: you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. We will still send messages about your registration, purchases and event safety.
• /Your privacy rights: depending on where you live, including California, other U.S. states, the EU and the UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
• /California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may make requests using the contact details below or through an authorized agent.

To make a request, email contact@foilracingleague.com. We may need to verify your identity before we respond. Some information, such as signed waivers and payment records, may need to be kept for legal reasons even after a deletion request.

9. Third-party services and links

The Services use or link to third-party services, including Stripe, Shopify, Google and Apple sign-in, and social media platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. International users

FRL is based in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. If we make material changes, we will notify registered riders by email. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
