eFoil racing: how it works

From the moment you enter to the moment the final is decided — the format, the divisions, the gear and exactly how to line up at The Miami Foil GP on Sunday, November 15, 2026.

The format, step by step

Sign the waiver & claim your spot

Entry is $200 per division. Each racing division is capped at 10 riders, and your spot is held the moment you check out — first come, first served.

Riders launch two at a time

Every heat is a straight head-to-head: two riders side by side on mirrored buoy courses. The fastest line, the cleanest carve and the best start win the heat.

Round-robin heats decide the bracket

Riders race everyone in their category across the heats. Every run counts — there is nowhere to hide in a 10-rider bracket.

Top 4 go to the final

The four fastest riders in each category meet in a final — a head-to-head battle for the podium and the prize money.

The Enduro closes the day

A full-field distance race, open to everyone. Add it to any division entry for $50, or enter it on its own — unlimited spots, $1,500 purse.

Five ways to race, $11,500 in total prize money. Pick one racing division per entry — every division is capped at 10 riders — and add the Enduro for $50 if you want the distance race too.

The gear

Your board

Bring your own eFoil — board, mast, foil wing and battery. Run what you brought; the racing is rider against rider.

Safety gear

An approved flotation device, helmet and impact protection are required on the water, per the FRL Safety Standard.

Weather & water

Miami Marine Stadium basin is flat, protected water — no surf, no chop. Races run in nearly all conditions; officials make the final call.

What you take home

Every entry includes an official Miami Foil GP racing pullover that is yours to keep, plus your race number and rider kit.

How to enter

Entries are open now at foilracingleague.com/register. Choose your division, sign the waiver, and pay the $200 entry fee — your spot is confirmed the moment payment clears. Add the Enduro for $50 at checkout, or enter just the Enduro for $50 if the distance race is all you want.

Just visiting? Spectating from shore is free. The $100 VIP boat pass takes you onto the water for the best view of the races. Parking at Miami Marine Stadium is $20 for the whole day.
